will not power up

when i press the power button,the lights come on for a couple of seconds.Then it shuts off.whats the problem with it?

I am including a link to a previous post concerning Dell. Its a different model but I believe may have some use for you. The teardown should be similar and you can check the coin battery for the proper replacement. Good luck.

i can hold the power button down and it will power up,but when i strike any key it shuts off!Could it be the motherboard?

I'd try replacing the coin cell battery as a first step. If that doesn't clear it get back to us.

You most likely have a dead battery. To check, remove the battery from the bottom of the machine and plug in the power cable. If it powers up, the battery may need to be replaced.
