Why are there purple and green lines in the bottom part of the screen?

I was just playing some games on my computer when green and purple lines randomly appeared in the bottom quarter of my screen. I plugged my laptop into an external monitor and there were no lines on it. Does this mean that I have to replace my LCD panel? Or can I possibly fix this through installing drivers or other software?

Answer this question I have this problem too

sylvania srt2777x it is possible that this is an LCD failure as well as a ribbon cable issue. Let us know if those lines change when your move the screen back and forth etc. We would need to see more of what this really looks like. Post some pictures with your question. You can always try and reinstall any drivers. It will not harm your LCD and that way you do know for sure that it is not a driver issue. Let us know what you find out.
