Pixel 3 has very low battery and stuck in a boot loop

Hi my pixel 3 is relatively new and was in excellent condition

The battery got very low and it auto shutdown

The problem is now when I plug in a charger it charges for 20 seconds then without me touching it tries to turn itself on the second it does it auto shuts down and then the cycle starts again

20 second charge - boot up - shutdown

Again and again I left it for a few hours continuly doing this and it just kept going

Any advice would be fantastic

Cheers

James

Have you tried another charger?

Yes I've tried two brand new leads and both a charger and a battery power bank

I also tried holding power and down and a couple times I got a glimpse of the different boot options but only for a half second before it shuts down and the cycle repeats

I would try booting into Fastboot (Power + Volume Down; Hold the Volume Down until it boots into Fastboot) and flashing a factory image. This will erase your data.

If not, if you haven’t damaged your phone in any way a Pixel 3 has to still be covered under warranty… I’d get in touch with Google.

DO NOT DO THIS!

Attempting to re-flash or recover when you're already in a low-power state is basically asking to brick your phone.

Find a charger that supports the higher power rate (12v USB C) and attempt to charge your phone with that. Barring that, you will have to have it repaired by google, as there is no way it will charge long enough to escape their insane auto-boot-to-emergency-shutdown loop.

If you have already tried a qualcomm 12v charger (the multi-voltage chargers can sometimes get it past the boot loop) and it hasn’t worked, you are probably going to have to send your phone to google for a repair.

Their idiocy with that auto-boot to a low-power state routine is terrible and there is no hope.

Just got mine booted AND charging using, of all things, the Nintendo Switch power supply.

15v 25w charger works with the Pixel. Who knew?
