I have a Vizio P502UI-B1E and I came home from the store one day to find the TV screen black. theres no picture, backlight or sound and i verified with a flashlight theres no actual picture. The power button turns the tv on as i can see from the indicator light. would this be a faulty Power Supply board or a faulty main board or some other fault inside the TV?

@thisguybeanz if anything it could be a main board issue. You want to remove the back from your Tv and take a look at the boards and the interconnect wiring. Unplug and reseat the cables. Vizio has had issues with poor soldering of the contact. Try to apply some gently pressure on the cable connectors and see if that changes anything. After that you want to measure the voltages from the power board to the main board. If all of those are okay I would consider a new main board. Check it first before just going ahead and buying one. Post some good pictures of your boards etc. with your question so that we can see what you see. Adding images to an existing question
