Why my internal microphone is malfunctioning?

My microphone records horrible. When I listen to the music I’ve recorded, there are some pops, cracks (like kj! pop!) when nothing of that actually happen in the room. It seems to be a microphone problem that is only showing up when I record sound with Voice Memo (native) and Reaper software. But it work fine with phone calls with Hangout, or voice messages for Telegram and Whatsapp.

What can I do? I’m studying music and this is a bad problem right now. Thanks in advance! :)

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

To be clear here you are using the built-in microphones. Have you tried using an external unit? Does it also encounter the same issue?

Apple has had an issue with pop sounds which is still an issue in some systems. It's a very madding issue! 2017 MacBook Pro Makes Popping/Clicking Noise Following Two Repairs

hi Dan! Thanks for your answer. I couldn't try an external microphone yet. I should. I will talk about this issue with a teacher that can give me a microphone for a quick test.

Referring to the issue of the video, I can say that fortunately that's not my problem. This pop sound I have here is showing up only with my homemade sound recording. When I listen to my music, it's full of popping sounds.

Hi, did you try reducing the input level on the mentioned softwares or on the system preferences. If not, try that and see if it works. Cheers

Hi Thembani! Yes, I did. That was the first thing I tried. Thanks!

Listening is not what I was worried about. Just like how in the vid the system is just sitting as the finder you will hear it.

In your case the recording is the key! As that faint sound will be amplified! Lets look at the microphones

As the mics are directly connected to the case any noise within it will be picket up in recording

Thanks Dan! I understand, I think. But nothing is making interfering with those microphones, at least in a visible way.

it seems to be a software problem.

So the problem was present with the external mic as well then.
