MacBook Air runs off of charger, but not battery, help

Block Image

My MacBook Air won’t charge and will only run off of the plug. As you can see in the image, it won’t charge at all. Could this be as simple as just replacing the battery or something worse. Even though it’s an old battery, it seems like a low amount of cycles to just completely die.

Low battery cycles indicate the battery has been used quite little in its life. System clearly reports you have a battery failure and it’s condition its poor. With this data I wouldn’t be surprised battery was left drained for some time and voltage dropped below the safety threshold where battery charging is prevented by the system. I believe a battery replacement would be the first step to take here.
