@almhajer - What is the version of macOS you have on the system?

You maybe facing an issue with the different file systems Apple has; the older HFS+ used in Sierra and older macOS's and the newer APFS used in High Sierra and Mojave, and your systems firmware level.

Anyone else who has this issue: Try and get a hot air station and set the heat gun to 480C. Proceed to heat the SSD chips for 2 mins each. Try and also heat the CPU. This helped my MacBook continue working for 6 more months :)

@jdt336578 - Seen a few of these! So far they are revolve around the older HFS+ File system and the newer APFS file system!

This gets into what is the OS the system WAS running and what are you using to SETUP the system.

If the system was running High Sierra or newer then the file system was upgrade to APFS and if you are using Sierra or older to setup your system (even internet recovery) the drive won't be accessible! As it has no clue about APFS only HFS+ volumes which it can't see!

Think of it this way ... You only speak Gaelic and you just landed in Tokyo Japan you'll have a hard time communicating with anyone or get anywhere, unless you can read Kanji.

Setup an OS installer USB-C drive with Mojave or newer.
