Why do I have a black screen and why does my TV make a buzzing noise?

my Super Nintendo is receiving power(AKA the light is on.) but i get a black screen and i can hear a small buzz coming from the speakers. has my motherboard gone bad or is it something else?

From what I have been reading it would appear that the “72 Pin Connector” is a common source for problems. Might want to check out (or similar) the following:

And while you have it apart, do a visual for for bulging caps, burn marks, dry or cracked solder joints, exploded components etc

could it be a short in the power cable? i laid it length wise and i got a little black screen. at least briefly.

@propman I had to shove a piece of paper in between the cartridge and the side wall of the slot...

@Jordan Fryman Which I suspect indicates the contacts are intermittent. Suggest you try what is recommended regarding the cleaning and readjust any pins that need realigning on the connector.

the cartridges were dirty "(even though i already cleaned them :| ) and the pins on the console itself were pushed outward. Works perfectly now… but i also have a problem with my N64 too
