My MacBook won't charge and randomly turns off shortly after startup

My Macbook was heating up so I closed the tab I was on and it cooled down. Then when the battery dropped to 30% and I plugged in the charger but it didn't charge. I tried resetting the SMC and tried to take out and put back in the battery but both methods didn't work.
