iPhone shuts off after a couple minutes?

So a relatives iPhone wouldn’t boot past the apple logo so I connected it to iTunes and restored it. However now when I get the iPhone on it just shuts off by itself after a couple minutes.

To get it back on I have to put the charger in and sometimes it just loops the Apple Logo over and over. Sometimes it shows the dead battery logo before finally coming back on with 90% battery.

Any ideas what this could be? Should I restore again? Is it the battery?

It seems the iPhone will not boot again now. I get the battery dead logo then the apple logo and then the black screen. You positive a new battery will fix this issue?

Yes, the battery has just totally failed at this point. I have personally diagnosed this issue many times. Many repair shops in your area will likely diagnose the issue for free if you are still unsure.

This will only work with an iPhone 6 and above. For older iPhones you need to use a tool like coconut Battery.
