Is it possible for damage Not to be visible immediately

Is it possible for a smart TV to enjoy an impact or bump of some kind damage not to show immediately is it possible for the vertical line to appear a week or two later is it possible for there to be a small hairline defect in the picture no bigger than a hair 2 to 3 inches long that can develop into a vertical line straight through the centre of the TV with no impact bump hit of any description has happened to the TV can this have stemmed from something that happen A short time previous to it becoming noticeable
