Liquid damage - VFF001 - IO cable?
Recently spilled liquid on my device. Took it apart and dried it out immediately. Washed the logic board and modules with Isopropyl Alcohol to remove residue.
Issues are:
- No audio (via speakers, headphones or HDMI) - no audio devices appear in sys prefs/sound.
- Fan runs at full speed while laptop is powered on, even when idle.
- Keyboard no longer working, but I don't care about that.
Apple Diagnostic turns up only one error code - VFF001 - for the audio.
From my reading it is likely to be the IO Flex Cable, or the IO board. The IO Flex Cable actually becomes too hot to touch the moment the laptop is powered on. I can't really afford to replace the wrong one, would you suggest the board or cable first, or something else?
Thanks
Is this a good question?
