some of the letters are not working when I text I turn the phone round but then the space bar doesnt work how do i repair this. i have turned the phone on and off but this has not resolved the problem.

Does your screen not respond to touch on those areas at all times, or just when you are texting? I would see if those areas are responsive when the phone is turned or not.
If the touch does not work at all in those areas, then you will need to replace the front panel. If it is only when you're texting, you could maybe restore the phone or bring it to apple to see what's going on.
