It can be change the regular stand for a vesa mount without cutting the stand?
Like dismounting the stand

There are a few ways to do this!
- There are adapter units which mount to the your stand NewerTech NuMount Universal VESA Adapter for iMac NewerTech no longer makes it but you can still find them.
- The other is opening your system to gain access to the hinge assembly internally and replace it and the other parts with the needed VESA mount versions. This is a lot of work as you need to completely disassemble the system
- By far the easiest way is buy a new or used system which has the VESA mount already installed Buy iMac with Built-in VESA Mount Adapter

@hugolz - You need to remove the logic board following this guide iMac Intel 21.5" Retina 4K Display (2017) Logic Board Replacement Then review the picture above to remove the stand and then the hinge.

Cutting the stand off won't get you a VESA mount! All you'll get is a system with no means to mount it to stand it up.
