will freeze or start getting multiple green lines

I know that this is an old post, however if someone could help me with my tv issues that would be awesome. I have recently started having issues with my Vizio smart TV, where it will freeze or start getting multiple green lines that alternate on and off. The sound also goes when these appear. The only way I can get the tv to work is to power it off for a few minutes and then turn it back on. I think that it's important to know that I use the Amazon fire cube. Not sure if that's the issue or not, but even when the cube is not on and there is a black screen, it does this. So I'm not sure what to do at this point. If nothing can be done short paying a ton of money to fix it, then I will be forced to purchase a new one. If anyone can shed some knowledge on this, or point me in the right direction, It would be awesome.
