My Gameboy Cartridge dosn't work

I just bought a original Gameboy Cartridge of The Legend of Zelda Links Awakening. The Screen of my Gameboy only shows this, while other games run flawless:

I can’t see a single problem it the cartridge itself, cleaned the contacts, tried a new battery - nothing works. Please help me, im clueless.

It’s always possible those resistors blew. You’d have to use a multimeter to test them though. You’d have to determine the stripe color resistance(the stripe rings tell you how many ohms of resistance they should be). If the resistor blew(open lined meaning no connection from side a to b),or if it lost its resistance and shorted(basically now it’s a wire and has barely any resistance for electricity to flow)..this could cause issues.

But if an ic chip goes bad,it really can’t be fixed,Only replaced. Unless you’re advanced in electronics and soldering,you really should buy a new cartridge.

On Gameboy and Gameboy color games the solder joints often fail because the pcb is too thin and flexes when the cart is inserted, which has similar symptoms to a bad IC but is much easier to fix. They can often be fixed by just reflowing the solder on the legs of the ics. Doing this requires a lot of flux and a soldering iron with an appropriate tip (knife or J tips work well), but isn't terribly difficult.
