Fan continue running after display replacement.

I replaced the display on an iMac and after replacing it the fan continues running. I plugged in the ribbon cables. What could be causing this problem?

Lets get some diagnostics here, reboot your system and press and hold the D key to ender into the onboard diagnostics. Did you get an error message if you did post it here for us to see.

Reference: Mac startup key combinations

Some systems have lost diagnostic services a Apple had a bug in the newer released of its firmware update. So if that fails to work or you don't get an error message download this app TG Pro post a snapshot of the main window here for us to see. Make sure you expand the window so all of the sensors and fan info are visible Adding images to an existing question

When taking the display off the computer be sure and save the LCD thermal sensor on the old broken display. You will need this or the fan will run at high speed after replacing the screen. Since the screen was shattered when I took the screen off I didn’t look for cables.
