A1398 - Need a trackpad cover plate - Where to purchase?

When replacing the battery in my A1398 the trackpad cover plate was bent. I can’t find where to purchase the part to replace it. Help.

That is a very difficult part to find, I know from experience. Finally had one come up on eBay after three weeks. You might do better trying to repair the one you have. It is a necessary part to make the trackpad work properly.

Thank you! The one that I have wasn’t too bad and I was able to straighten it out to my satisfaction (which is actually quite stringent). Additionally, thank you for the extremely quick response! I was able to put it back together this past weekend, and everything works perfectly!

It is a necessary part to make the trackpad work properly.

Besides helping seal the trackpad cavity, protecting other internals from water damage for instance, I don’t see what other purpose it serves..?

Prevents the battery adhesive from somehow interfacing directly with the trackpad.
