Removing my airport card

Hello, I own a 09 15" MacBook pro and promised my little cousin he can have it for his 8th bday. I talked it over with my aunt and she asked me to remove the wifi in it so he can't get online without her knowing. Which I think is crap, but I did promise him the laptop. So how do I remove the airport without having to tear apart the whole system. So can someone send me a descriptive instructions on how to or send me a video link? I'd really appreciate it, thank you.

Tell your aunt to encrypt the wifi and don't hand your cousin the key. The airport card sits in the display frame on these models and is not easily removed.

Anyway i think it would be better that your aunt goes patiently though the dos and don'ts of the internet, because sooner or later they have to face it and kids ought to learn from and about these (not so new) media.

That's some gift for a 8 year old and in my opinion overkill. Look at his other toys to see how beat up they are and think about how much it's going to cost you to repair this thing after it's dropped and juice is spilled in it. Consider a non-wifi iPad for now. But if you must; just remove the airport software and browsers. Or disconnect the airport card. If we had the last three figures of your serial number we could get you to the correct guide for disabling it. I put my 7 year old grand-daughter in a desktop to learn on and the 10 year old in a lower end MacBook.
