The F28 error code on this model of washer indicates a communication error between the motor control unit and the computer circuit unit that results in the washer stopping during a cycle.

Step 1

Press the "Stop" button twice. The "Stop" button is underneath the "Start" button on the left side of the washer control panel surrounded by a circle. Pressing "Stop" twice cancels the current cycle.

Step 2

Press the "Rinse/Drain & Spin" button on the control panel to drain the washer and spin any remaining water out of the tub and clothes.

Step 3

Pull the washer door open and close it to reset the appliance. When the door is closed there is an audible click signaling that it is locked.

Step 4

Open the detergent dispenser drawer on the left front side of the washer. Pour the correct amount of HE laundry detergent into the dispenser and push the drawer closed.

Step 5

Press a laundry cycle to restart the washer.
