My water damaged iPhone 4 which I repaired now only will turn on when plugged in. I replaced the battery because the second you unplug it it shuts off. It still is doing the same thing what's next could it be the dock connector?

Yes it could be. Usually I let people know to replace it after the battery got changed and there is no change in charge status. So I would think that your next option would be to change it. Of course you made sure you followed our guide to rule out corrosion and or debris as well. Hope this helps.

You can try a dock connector but if the phone is working when it is connected to an AC power source, it sounds like the dock connector is functioning properly. Check for corrosion around the battery connector. Make sure that connection is solid. If that doesn't fix it, the next thing to try would be the dock connector but you may have an issue with the logic board ultimately.
