broken screen or LCD?.. some functionality on my LCD?
the screen is totally cracked, but the LCD has only some functionality, how do i know if i just need to replace the Panel, or just LCD or both?

if the visual display is complete..ie you can see all of the picture without loss of pixels, but the outer glass part is cracked and doesn't respond to touch then you need to replace the digitiser.iPhone 3G Front Panel Replacement
if the visual display is damaged and you can't see areas of the picture then you need to replace the LCD.iPhone 3G Display Replacement
if both are damaged then replace both.
