Why is my phone not charging?

Block Image

Block Image

I ordered a replacement after my original assembly stopped charging the phone. Once I got the replacement, I proceeded on putting the assembly in. I managed to do it but I noticed that the connector seems to be lifted in the top part, and I’ve tried to push it down to no avail. What did I do wrong? (BTW the foam is gone because I’ve been trying to push it down for a while.)

Is this the battery connector

I'm talking about the charge port connector. However, this reminds me to unplug your battery when doing work like this before starting anything else.

I have had this problem often, and what I have found is if you connect the port to the board before laying in down and screwing it in, it helps the connection be snug first, before you put it back together. From the pictures it looks like the connector cable is slightly bent, so it’s probably not making a great connection. You may be able to save that piece if you slightly bend it back straight and again plug it in before it’s laid fully down and screwed in. If it still doesn’t work, you may need to start over with a new port and do it this way first. Once the board is screwed in you can’t move the port to where it needs to be to perfectly align with the connection on the board, so connecting it first helps with that.
