No light in screen, back-lit logo even after NVRAM, SMC, etc reset

I dropped my mbp (13” retina display, early 2015) from height of less than 2 feet, and it happened to be inside my laptop bag.

I tried to switch it on with the magsafe cable plugged in, it showed full battery. I heard the startupchime, but there was no light in the screen, backlight, or keyboard. I knew the power was on because I saw that the green caps lock light was on.

I tried the following -

  1. adjusting brightness using F1, F2 keys— nothing.
  2. Force restart — nothing.
  3. Shone a flashlight on screen- no light observed.
  4. Did NVRAM reset— nothing.
  5. Did SMC reset— nothing.
  6. Tried plugging the mbp to external display using HDMI, observed NO SIGNAL on the ext display.

Please suggest what could have gone wrong and how must I proceed to solve this problem and get my mbp back up working.

Clearly something has become displaced or damaged internally. Without opening and making an inspection its hard to say what has failed.

Unless you’re equipped to work on your system you should find someone with the skills and tools to fix your system locally if you can.
