Replaced Digitizer works until I put the phone together

I have replaced a number of digitizers for iphones, ipod touches, etc, and I have never run into this problem.

I replaced a digitizer for the iPhone 3GS and I test it to make sure everything is working before putting the unit back together. Everything works fine (digitizer, lcd, etc) prior to putting the lcd/digitizer unit back into the phone and screwing in the two bottom screws.

It seems like it is shorting out somewhere, and the problem seems to happen when I put the top end of the screen in.

Any thoughts?

3G/S iPhones are very prone to LCD/Digitiser connections coming loose due to nothing holding them down, and my guess is that your Digitiser connection is coming loose as you place the screen back down. Try using some sticky tape to see if that is the problem. If so then i HIGHLY recommend to buy some Kapton Anti-Static tape and use that to hold the connections down. Never use normal tape as it has the possibility to melt and ruin the rest of the phone.

Also make sure there are no stray screws left inside the body of the phone.
