Changed battery, now getting image freezing when running apps

I recently changed my systems battery without any issues.

Afterwards, the screen was jittery and also it froze COMPLETELY when opening heavy apps (Rhino 3d) and some heavy websites (Google Maps). This forces be to do a hard reset.

The other day, by some odd, miraculous glitch, the computer opened the programs and ran as if nothing had happened!

Testing if this was the case, once I closed and re-opened the app the computer froze once again.

I did an update of MacOS to the current one (Mojave), but despite that, the problem persists.

Wishing the miracle glitch happens again….

Probably useless but you can see if it’s a user related glitch by opening up a new clean account in system preferences/users. Not to leave anything untried you may also try running a bit on an external monitor which relies completely on the discrete GPU and see what happens. I don’t have great experience on video signal Mux in retina systems but from your issue description the glitch may come from that direction.
