Why is my ice machine not making ice?

I have a Kenmore side by side fridge (made by Whirlpool) that is not making ice at all. After reading the possible causes on line I found three potential causes:

1) faulty water control valve

2) faulty ice making unit

3) faulty cooling thermostat

I already replaced the water filter and the water is running fine to the water dispenser.

Does anyone know how to distinguish between those three options which part I need to replace to fix the problem?

Are you getting water to the trays?

No water is making it to the ice tray but water is making it to the water dispenser

Options

Check the on/off switch. Manually fill the tray and see if it works. Here's a short video on the on off. I'm thinking that something is not telling it to turn on. I am concerned about the paddles getting frozen down and it may have stripped a gear trying to work.

Ok thanks for your suggestion. The gears are not attempting to turn at all so I don’t think they are stripped.
