Why wont my tablet charge even though has the charge screen?

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 Sm-T580. When it ran our of battery I forgot to charge it and when i tried charging it again it just showed the charging screen to when you first start charging it but it never charged. I have tried multiple cords in multiple places and nothing works. Sometimes if i keep it on charge that same screen starts flashing the charging icon brighter and darker. I have tried rebooting it and still nothing. I’ve moved the cable around gently to see if it was my charging port, it did the same thing over and over. I have done these things multiple times and still nothing. I don’t want to have to pay money and get it repaired unless i have to. If you’re having the same problem and you fixed it or you just have advice that i might be able to use that would be great. Any advice helps at this point!

Try holding the power + volume down + home button until you get the prompt to enter download mode screen. Once that appears release all keys and press the corresponding volume key when prompted for restarting the tablet.

Hopefully that gets the tablet charging up. If not there may be a problem with the board / charging port which will require going to a repair shop to get it fixed.
