Sound, no screen display

Greetings. About thirty minutes ago, I dropped my iPod Touch. The screen went black and the glass top began to peel off. I pushed the glass top back in place and the display showed. However, I could not see what was on the left side of the screen, as it shined a bright grey with dozens of brightly-coloured lines. Thinking the issue could be fixed by simply pushing the screen back into place again, the display finally shut off. I am still able to hear the sounds of the iPod locking and unlocking, etc., so it seems to be an issue with visuals only.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like you need a new display. The "grey with dozens of brightly-coloured lines" was where is actually broke. The pushing in may have just temporarily bridged some open connection, which ultimately failed. Of course you should disassemble it and make sure that all your logic board connections are still set, but I'd go for a new screen

Other sources have also told me to open up my device, but I've decided to send it in to be repaired instead. Thanks.
