Beats Studio3 Wireless status lights never indicate full charge

Hello,

The string of charging lights on my Beats Studio3 headphones never indicates that charging is complete, the final light in the sequence will continue to flash perpetually (I tested by leaving them charging for 24 hours). Also, when connect to my phone after an extremely long charging sequence, the battery will indicate that it is 97-99% full, and never reaches 100%. I have gone through 2 pairs with the same issue in the past 2 weeks. I have performed a reset on both headphones numerous times to no avail. Any ideas?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Hi, this usually indicates a “bad" battery. By “bad" I don't mean, completely useless. Lithium ion batteries start to lose the maximum capacity at which it will fully charge over time.

So what happens is, the battery will be fully charged to it capacity, but not as charged as it originally was.

For instance, the Beats 2 battery has a max capacity of 56mAh, but it may only charge to 54 or 55mAh.

The best way to fix this is to replace the battery, but if you're not noticing any major decreases in battery life (battery only lasts 2 hours instead of 10), you probably don't need to replace the battery yet.

Hope this helps.

Try using a iPad charger. I had this issue on a brand new pair of Studio 3’s, but after plugging it in to an iPad charging brick, it reached 100%. After battery calibration however, I would recommend trying to keep it between 40% and 80% charge unless you’re going on a long trip or something like that. You can calibrate most batteries by using the device until it’s battery is bellow 10% and charging it to 100% without interrupting it. So plug it in under 10% and don’t unplug it or use it until it is 100% charged. Because of your issue, I would recommend trying to use an iPad wall adapter to charge it to 100% if you attempt to calibrate it’s battery, however, I don’t know if this is bad for the device or the battery, and I would not recommend using an iPad charger every time you charge it.
