Different color of LCD cable connector

The color of the LCD connector on the Macbook air is normally gold, but it is silver. Please tell me the year in which this connector is used.

Sorry guy not enough information!

How about telling us what system you are trying to replace the cable or or full display lid assembly.

How about posting some pictures so we can see what you are seeing Adding images to an existing question.

Also, where did you get it and why are you replacing it as both look good!

It is one of the 2010-2012 models,

It has been broken up.

Need to be more specific, they have lots of different screens for those models before 2013.

MacBook Air Mid-2012 for example.

OK so you bought a pile of parts from someone and are now trying to sort them out is that what we are dealing with here?

The gold connector cables are the newer ones but just by looking at a connector does not define the part to fit X, Y or Z system. This gets into the length the number of pins and the alterations within the cable. As an example the cabled used in a iMac are just bare whereas the MacBook, Air & Pro models have the cable fitted into a hollow hinge to pass through to the display.
