Problem With MBP 15" Unibody Backlit Keyboard

I recently got my MBP 15" Unibody (oct 2008) repaired by Apple for the third time ''(see prior post http://tinyurl.com/5wux94h)''.

Now I don't use this MBP much anymore since I feel I can't rely on it functioning as suppose to while working. It just sits like a media server more or less.. :(

The other day when sitting down infront of it I realized that the keyboard is no longer backlit.

I tried adjusting with the controls (fn+f5/f6) and I can see the white graphics gauge increasing/decreasing the light onscreen, but the light itself doesn't go on.

I tried resetting PRAM and the SMC, but without success.

Anyone got any other ideas before I go into battle with Apple again?
