I've been having trouble with my truck it won't crank to start

I can push start it and everything else is fine but when I turn the key to start it’s like everything on the dash goes out for a second then comes back. I replaced the ignition switch yesterday but it did nothing to fix the problem. How hard would it be to install a push button for the starter?

Have you tried to jumper 12 volts to the small terminal on the starter solenoid to see if the starter switch in the column lock may be worn out and causing the problem? If that is the case, then yes wiring a aftermarket simple button to start the vehicle would be a trivial fix for you.
