Are all hard drive caddys equal for a raid 0 setup?

Hi all,

I’ve got a mid 2012 unibody MacBook Pro and am planning on using matching Samsung 860 evo ssds in a raid 0 setup and was wondering if the hard drive caddy used will be important?

im trying to decide whether or not to get the owc data doubler vs the ifixit dual drive caddy.

Is there anything else I should keep in mind? Essentially, I’m looking for performance and speed and to have something cool at the cost of not having a redundant drive for if an ssd fails. I am quite diligent with keeping time machine backups since I come from a MacBook Air with only 1 ssd.

Are there known problems with this setup?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Either will be fine, I personally prefer the OWC Caddy but that's just because it feels like it has better construction, apart from that they both do the same thing.

I haven’t tried running Raid on this setup but I don’t see you having any issues. Let us know how it goes.
