i have an iphone 3g, i replaced the screen and touch screen, it worked perfectly for 6 months, now the screen only works when i press the power button and the slide bar and cancel button apears, but when i tried to unlock the phone the touch screen doesn't work.
the display is fine

Your digitizer is failing. You need to buy a new front screen with attached digitizer for 3g iPhone. It is ususally just called digitizer but it will come with the front glass too. Also make sure it comes with the top and bottom adhesive strips.
