Will not reboot trying to reboot from disc

Have a mac mini late 2005 G4.

Locked up, I powered off, when restart it took long time and went to screen with kernal panic message. I reset the power unit and used the orgianl discs to re boot. The unit will not reboot from discs, it will get to select destination and locks up again. In system profiler, extentions the IOAudioFamily has an error in dependence says incomplete and com.apple,iokit.IOUSBFamily: NO valid version of this dependency can be found and com.apple.kernal.iokit: No valid version of this dependency can be found. How can I fix this?

Try disconnecting your hard drive and see if it will start from your installation disk.

Thanks but I am not a technical kind of person. Will I need to open up the unit? and are you thinking the hard drive failed? thank you

Here's how to remove the hard drive and yes, I think it has failed: Mac mini (PowerPC) Hard Drive Replacement

To start from your installation disk, insert the disk and restart holding down the "C" key.
