Can I change my logic board originally in 2014 early to mid 2012's?

I have a old laptop which is 1.4 Ghz and 121 flash storage. Recently I would like to buy some 2012 8gb 2.0Ghz logic board to replace the original logic board. Is that doable and is there any recommendation or advice?

Thank you!

From what I can tell from your post, it’s sounding like you have a 2014 MBA and would like to install a 2012 Logic Board into it.

If this is the case, it will not work. They are completely different boards and are not compatible. The 2013 - 2014 board is what you want. I believe a 2015 - 2017 boards should work fine too, haven’t had a chance to test this personally though. (Upgrade MacBook Air A1466 i5 2013 logic board with a newer one 2015)
