How to install a system on an erased drive

My customer booted from an external drive and used Disk Utility to erase the drive. So the repair/restore partition is gone.

It boots and runs fine from an external drive but when I try to install a system it tells me it has to be connected to a power source but there is only the one USB c port.

Any ideas on how to get a system on it?

This is one of the big issues with the MacBook’s.

You’ll either need to get a USB-C hub so you gain access to a second USB-C port so both the power and your OS installer can be connected together. or use the WiFi connection to the Internet to do an internet recovery.
