Options

need to power off(for jb)

my power button isnt there, but if it is on the lock screen it works if i use my fingurnail sometimes and it goes to sleep -but not from homescreen and a min time out drains the battery faster then i would like -but i am needing to shut if off so i can jailbreak it and then i wont need the power button again

my options-

will an itouch power button work?

is there anyway i can power iphone off through the computer

somebody please help me out thanks

ive found a couple on how to get it into dfu mode through "run" but it did not work

and i found one on how to power it off through computer but it made no since at all

Options

DFU requires a hardware input from the Home Button contacts on Ribbon #4 and the Power Button contacts on Ribbon #5 or the connectors. There is no other way to get DFU. A way to turn iPhone OFF but will not help you enter DFU, because you need a Power button, is as follows.....

With program TinyUmbrella, click Enter Recovery, your iPhone will be put into Recovery Mode, disconnect iPhone from computer, let it sit for 30 seconds, iPhone will shut OFF. There your iPhone is now OFF.

Later, when you cannot get into DFU because you do not have a Power button, and if you need to get out of Recovery Mode, use TinyUmbrella program and click Exit Recovery.

ok thanks can you jailbreak in recovery because with green poison i think one of them it has an auto dfu and i just need it off first

I am sure that Green Pois0n requires a true DFU. But try anyway.

The next Jailbreak should not require DFU Mode, but nobody knows when it will come out. Of if it will or will not require DFU.
