Picture folders have gone blank

Several folders in my picture collection have no pictures in them, but they have dates on them. Therefore I would assume there used to be pictures in them.

Hi @sharryk ,

Navigate to the “empty” folders using Windows Explorer.

Right click on one of the folders and select Properties.

Check in the General tab what the "data" size of the folder is.

If it shows data in the MB or even GB range the files are probably still in the folder.

Still in Explorer at the top of the page click on the View tab and then on the hidden items check box and then see if the pictures are now shown in the folder in Explorer.

If the folder size is very low (in KB) do you know the "file names" of any of the missing pictures from the folders?

If so use the search function in Windows Explorer to search for the file name in the HDD where the folders are located. They may have been moved to another folder location for some reason.

Also check in the Recycle Bin in case they have been accidentally deleted. If they are there, there is an option to restore them back to their original location.
