HI there, I have an iphone 6s that doesn’t power on but is recognized on iTunes. i have checked the display cables and even outright replaced the screen but it still isn’t working, nor is the vibration working. i already did a dfu restore but it didn’t work. does anyone have any advice on what I should do? Thank you in advance!

Take your phone to a darker place or wait until night comes and shine a light to your screen. If you can see a faint image your backlight is missing. That’s a board repair issue but a skillful technician who does microsoldering might be able to fix it with at a relatively affordable cost, many work on a no fix no fee basis, thus you have nothing to loose. If you have no image at all it might be a more troublesome repair. In both cases however it doesn’t seem you could fix it yourself, it’s not a DIY repair.

i got the screen to turn on for a split second but it turned back off... do you know what that means? Thank you for the helpful advice!

Does it show anything at all with an external light after it turned off ? If yes it might be a component, maybe a filter, that serves the backlight circuit has been desoldered by the board, seen that before.

I couldn't see anything on the screen, even with a light (maybe the light isn't bright enough, i just used my phone) but the backlight just started working for a second then it stopped working again.

@b_peace Well, that definitely points to a backlight issue..probably a filter, but it needs testing, a microscope and microsoldering tools, there's nothing one can do without them unfortunately.

ok, thank you so much for the help!

iPhone have to find the solution by see the error code during firmware upgrade via iTunes.First replace battery and restore because low battery cause that firmware upgrade failure.

See the history why that the fault is appear like water damage or forcely dropped that you don`t mention here.

It also could be turned on but there is be a backlight issue and you can't see the screen.

I don't think there is any water damage but i was told the phone was dropped a lot. The previous owner of the phone said that the phone's screen was "ghosting and glitching" and one day it just stopped working. I also didn't see any errors on itunes while restoring the phone. I also replaced the screen of the phone but it didn't work either. is it possible that there is logic board damage?

yes, might be backlight issues,If your iPhone is fully restore that is not any issues in.That must be backlight section or Chestnut problem.

If the logo appears without light means backlight problem.

if no logo and no light means chestnut problem.

Remember that you need micro soldering skills.I advice you to contact good technician for repair.

What exactly does "chestnut issue" mean? Is it an expensive repair?
