Laptop not coming on / nothing on display

I cannot get my PowerBood G4 to come on. It suddenly went dark after I watched a stream of videos on the internet. The caps lock key lights up and it sounds like it is on but there is nothing on the display.

I've see two cases like this. First one was a bad RAM port development. It would boot from either of the chips but only when just one was in the working port. Both chips were good. The second worked when I reseated the RAM.

Try booting from the install disk, could be a bad HDD.
