What is the solvent that removes battery

Can you please tell me what is the solvent that loosens the battery is so I can attempt removal before buying a new battery.

iFixit uses acetone. I use methanol.

The methanol (denatured alcohol) is safer for you and the plastics in computers. It worked fine for me. A bit stubborn and the battery packages get a bit twisted, but they didn't rupture. I used plastic spudgers to pry up gradually. Work from the top edge nearest the bottom of the computer. Spraying in the alcohol with a small plant sprayer. Tilt to allow the alcohol to reach the adhesive strips.

The acetone might be faster and easier, but even with ventilation there are the fumes.
