Water damage, is it saveable or thrash?

Hi! I dropped my Nokia 6 into a river while we were at an ATV course for the defence forces. The nokia was on and i forgot to turn it off as i was too busy trying to dry it and get the excess water out. The best thing i could do and also did was in the evening put it into the dryer room. I took the phone apart this weekend and there was a few spots of dried up watermarks, and cleaned the whole motherboard with IPA. There were NO blacked or burned looked components. Is the phone saveable? I will need a new home button assy and a charger board, but is the phone otherwise thrash ready, or should i try to save it?

Sounds like you have done a lot of things right here. As long as the corrosion on the board has been cleaned up and it didn’t do any damage to the logic board you might be able to get away with just replacing components that aren’t working. I would honestly take it to a repair shop and see what they think. Some shops will look at the phone and even try to fix it for free. In our shop we will try to fix people’s devices and only charge them if we can. Just ask.
