I am getting an error message from Amazon about not enough bandwith

I have a new smart tv, Vizio, and unable to play Amazon Prime videos  & tv shows.  The error message I get is not enough bandwidth, does this sound correct?  I am with Comcast.  Also, I can’t play Nextflix either, but when I talked to their customer service dept they said it is not a bandwidth issue, but has to do with the smart tvs and they have gotten many calls about it.  Not sure what to do. ???

@oldturkey03  Thank you for your help.  I ran the test and for downloads I got 38.2 Mbps and uploads 5.9 Mbps so I am not exactly sure how to translate this to what you wrote.  Also, while I am on Netflix they have a test you can run and according to their site, I pass the bandwidth issue.  The customer service rep at Netflix said they think it is something else because many people are calling in about the issues.  Therefore, I don’t know what to think at this time.

@sanddancer those are some good numbers and plenty to stream. this does not sound like it is an issue with your hard ware.

Okay... thanks. I will follow up with Amazon and Netflix.

@sanddancer it will depend on what kind of network connection are you using. I’d start by performing a simple bandwidth connection check. Something like this this test should work. You will need a minimum of 2.5 Mbps and 7.5 Mbps for HD and > 12 Mbps for streaming on multiple devices. Let us know what you find out.
