does not boot up to desktop only black screen showing "samsung"

When I try to turn on the tab, it goes through the welcome screen only to end up stuck on a black screen showing "samung". I tried to do a reboot using the volume and power button with no luck.

Try to go to recovery mode by putting off the tab then press power and up volume together. Fromthere go to factory reset.

I had this problem too. Only a Factory Reset solved the problem temporarely...

Next time I restarted the device it had the same problem. I even reflashed it several times to figure out the problem. Must be something wrong with the stock bootloader. You should send it in. I will do that as well.

Should not be the only option but the easiest and fastest way.

You can easily reclaim your money or get a new device since this is a major problem not easily to be fixed by the ordinary user.

But after a long dat trying i fix my tablet. By using galaxytabhacks.com. by using ons of the new roms IT runs on a 1.4 ghz dualcore. Sweet!!
