BEG FOR HELP- have I got the wrong lcd?

Hi,

so i thought id done my homework and to replace my 13.3 lcd from a early 2008 white macbook i bought the following part...

LG PHILIPS LP133WX1

now, when i opened the macbook up i realised that the end of the lvds cable that slots into the top of my origional screen is much narrower and thinner than the new lg part.

as such it wont fit and ive pulled everything apart to get it in!

what part did i need?

is it possible to replace the lvds or convert the screen i have?

i can post pic if it helps

There are three different manufacturers of these screens all with different connectors. See which one you have and contact your supplier to see which one you need.

hi, thanks, how could i tell which one i need. would there be a part number somewhere on the lvds cable?

by

It should be on the back on the screen

think i found what you meant.. my origional macbook screen was

LG PHILIPS LP133WX1 (TL) (A1)

and the replacement is

LG PHILIPS LP133WX1 (TL) (B1)

does that mean anything to you?

The A1 has a 20 pin data connector and the B1 a 30 pin connector. Sorry mayer, did not man to chime in.

hello mr turkey, is it safe to assume that there is no way to convert them? am i better to just put the new one on ebay and buy the 20 pin?
