CPU Overheating 171 °F

I have macbook A1278

Downloaded Macs Fan Control to check temperature

Found out that my CPU Is 171 °F

Changed the thermal Paste And cleaned Fan

Still the same issue

Any solution?

Open up Activity Monitor you find in Utilities folder inside Applications and see what the CPU is doing and if some process keeps it busy all the time (don’t forget to select “all processes”). A 77C° temperature is not unusual and it’s on the safe side if the processor is at work. On the contrary, if that’s the temperature with CPU close to idle, there might be something going bad with the logic board.

Did you try running diagnostics? Restart your system and hold the D key. Did any error codes pop?

How about using a better tool to see whats happening with all of your thermal sensors and check your fan’s RPM.

First remove MacsFanControl and install this TG Pro take a snapshot of the main window and post it here for us to see Adding images to an existing question

With this better info we should be able to see if the fan is working correctly and if the heat sink is OK.
