Most cables I have replaced have had partial function of one sort or another. So if it really is your Flex Cable #3, then this would be another that is bad with partial function.

Your Flex Cable #3 is most likely bad. Or worse the Connector #3 on the Logic Board is bad. The most common reason for any function to go bad related to #3, is that the Flex Cable #3 itself is bad. The Flex Cable #3 is very fragile. The second most common reason is, the #3 Connector on the Logic Board is damaged. By far the least common problem is the speaker itself, I have yet to run into a bad speaker. The most common reason for a bad speaker that I have heard of is, liquid went right into the earpiece mesh, with resulting earspeaker problem.
