RAM issues, can my system support different sized modules?

Will the system Dell Vostro 3670, i3-8100 not go into interleaved mode if the RAM are different sizes?

My DELL came with one 4GB module. It is much slower than expected.

Benchmarks say that it is suffering from only having one channel if memory.

I could add another 4GB, but I was hoping to add an 8GB.

Not only because then I’d get 12GB, instead of just 8GB, but also so if I decided to add another 8GB module at a later date, I wouldn’t have to throw out two 4GB modules and buy two 8GB modules.

Answer this question I have this problem too

According to Dell’s site and the Crucial memory selector site, your laptop DOES support 8 gb modules.
